Meet is thrilled to be partnered with our client, a global, industry leading Medical Communications agency on their search for a sharp Director of Scientific Services.

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director, Scientific Services to lead a dynamic team across a 60% Medical Affairs and 40% Publications account. With a focus on Oncology, Cardiovascular, Renal & Metabolic (CVRM) Diseases, and Infectious diseases, this role offers significant growth opportunities and the chance to play a key part in shaping the direction of our client services. As a co-lead with the other Director, Scientific Services based in the UK, you’ll have the opportunity to be part of the senior leadership team while driving new business and optimizing resource allocation for this US client.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of 3-4 direct reports, providing leadership, mentorship, and support to the editorial and scientific management teams.
  • Drive strategic planning and development for the account, identifying new business opportunities and developing strong client relationships.
  • Co-lead with the other Director, Scientific Services based in the UK, ensuring alignment across both teams and fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Guide the editorial teams and account teams by cross-pollinating ideas, ensuring consistent communication and shared insights between departments.
  • Provide scientific and technical knowledge while balancing commercial and creative considerations to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Optimise resource management across projects, ensuring effective allocation and alignment with revenue goals.
  • Oversee the management of resources and revenue, ensuring effective budget management and project efficiency.
  • Mentor and support the scientific teams, assisting with the development of new business proposals and pitches.
  • Play an active role in the US leadership team, contributing to the strategic direction of the company and maintaining a calm and measured approach to leadership.


Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • At least 10 years of experience in a Medcomms agency, with a proven track record of leading teams and managing client accounts.
  • Significant experience providing leadership to editorial and scientific teams, with a focus on fostering collaboration and driving performance.
  • A breadth of experience across a variety of projects, therapeutic areas (oncology, CVRM, infectious diseases), and client types.
  • Strong experience in strategic planning and the development of new business proposals and presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and support scientific teams, particularly in the context of working with new clients.
  • A solid understanding of resource management, balancing operational efficiency with revenue generation.
  • Experience working with senior leadership teams, and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Calm, measured leadership style, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stay composed under pressure.
