They are a team of passionate individuals who are committed to making a meaningful impact on healthcare, and are seeking a Manager, Medical Writing to join their growing medical writing team and head up a group of writers.

Job Overview:

As a Medical Writing Manager, you will:

  • Manage a team of medical writers, providing weekly oversight, guidance, and support.
  • Oversee professional development through regular (e.g., quarterly) check-ins and conduct annual and ad-hoc performance reviews.
  • Monitor and manage individual team members’ time and utilization to ensure efficiency and balance.
  • Reinforce company values, mission, and vision to foster a strong, purpose-driven team culture.
  • Support business development by representing the company in strategic meetings, leading workshops or talks, and engaging with clients.
  • Continue contributing to client projects with a reduced writing workload to accommodate management responsibilities.

Required experience and qualifications (professional skills) for this role:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in line management of a team of medical writers.
  • At least 8 years of medical regulatory writing experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, or CRO settings.
  • Proven track record as Lead Medical Writer on a variety of regulatory documents, including complex, multi-document projects with global, cross-functional teams (e.g., submission dossiers, responses to health authorities).
  • Skilled in project-level management, including resource oversight, coordination of writers and QC, and use of structured methods for planning and execution.
  • Experienced in performing cost/benefit analyses to support decisions on resource allocation, conflict resolution, and workflow optimization.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to guide and influence stakeholders, make sound decisions, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
