About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical/Mechatronic Engineer with expertise in cooling design, thermal management, and airflow optimization. In this role, you will work with a dynamic team to address critical technical challenges related to overheating in mechanical housing units. You will be responsible for identifying the problem, providing design optimization solutions, and ensuring that the cooling systems meet the required technical and performance standards.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of airflow modeling, fan selection, thermal testing, and mechanical housing design, with the ability to work independently and effectively in a remote setting, with occasional travel to Munich for on-site meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design optimization: Identify and resolve overheating issues in mechanical housing units, focusing on airflow and cooling system improvements.
  • Problem identification and solution development: Provide technical expertise in troubleshooting airflow and thermal management problems, and implement effective solutions.
  • Cooling system design: Design and optimize cooling systems, including airflow modeling, fan selection, and thermal testing of prototypes.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (engineering, service, regulatory, etc.) to ensure seamless integration of solutions.
  • Technical documentation: Create and maintain relevant technical documents, including drawings, specifications, and test results in line with ISO standards.
  • Testing and validation: Lead the testing of prototypes and systems to validate design changes and cooling performance.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in mechanical design, thermal management, or cooling system design (experience in medical devices or similar regulated industries is preferred).
