Position Title: Sales Leader - Life Sciences
Location: Remote (Field and Home-Office Based)
Role Overview:
As a Sales Leader, you will play a crucial role in driving our commercial strategy within a specified U.S. territory, while also supporting our global expansion efforts. You will be responsible for establishing our cutting-edge proteomics technology as a market leader by building strong relationships with academic, biotech, pharma, and government customers. Your goal will be to meet and exceed sales targets, contribute to the growth of our commercial team, and ensure an exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Territory Management & Sales Planning:
- Develop a strategic territory and account-based sales plan aimed at achieving company goals.
- Execute sales plans to meet or exceed commercial targets.
- Customer Engagement & Presentations:
- Deliver compelling presentations on our technology at seminars, conferences, and smaller meetings.
- Provide expert consultation to customers, demonstrating the value of our technology in unbiased proteomics.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key stakeholders in academic, biotech, pharma, and government sectors.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with internal teams to communicate customer feedback and needs, influencing product development and market strategies.
- Work closely with marketing, technical support, and product development teams to enhance customer satisfaction and product offerings.
- Sales Process Management:
- Navigate complex sales environments, managing the sales process from lead generation to closing deals.
- Utilize CRM tools to manage customer interactions, update records, and provide accurate sales forecasts.
- Drive prospecting efforts to generate new leads and expand the customer base.
- Commercial Organization Support:
- Support the expansion of the commercial team to align with company growth objectives.
- Provide training and guidance to new team members as needed.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in sales, preferably in life science capital equipment and consumables.
- Deep understanding of the biomarker discovery and life sciences market.
- Strong track record of sales success and territory management.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex scientific concepts clearly.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with CRM tools and sales forecasting.
- Ability to travel as needed to meet with customers and attend industry events.
Education:
- A degree in Life Sciences is required (e.g., Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology).
- An MBA or similar business qualification is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Base salary range: $140,000 to $160,000, based on education, skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
- Eligible for performance-based bonuses and participation in the company's stock option plan.
