An industry leading medical technology company based in Southern California is looking to hire a seasoned Senior Manager of Mechanical Engineering to lead technology innovation and new product development of wearable health monitoring devices. This individual will manage a mechanical design & analysis team within the R&D engineering group through concept to launch product development.
The senior leadership team is seeking an effective engineering manager with a demonstrated history of leading successful product development and launch cycles within a 1-year timeframe or less. This role will require technical depth and expertise in wearable product design, small mechanism design, and FEA.

Responsibilities: 
•    Develop and manage a high-performing Mechanical R&D Engineering team.
•    Manage next-gen product development for wearable health technology.
•    Lead and mentor team through mechanical analysis, FEA, tolerance analysis, and testing.
•    Oversee mechanical engineering design, CAD modeling, conceptual prototyping, through product development and implementation.
•    Drive successful product development and launch cycles within an extremely fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Requirements: 
•    BS/MS degree in Mechanical Engineering & 12+ years of product development experience in high-tech or health-tech industries.
•    5+ years’ experience managing large engineering teams in a fast-paced, cross-functional matrix organization.
•    Experience coaching and building high performing Mechanical Engineering design teams.
•    Experience managing high-volume product development of complex technologies within tight deadlines. 
•    Depth and experience developing engineering systems including mechanical and electromechanical design, plastic injection molding, electromechanical integration, adhesive bonding, and metal stamping. 
•    Technical experience in wearable product design, mechanism design, miniaturization of products, and finite element analysis. 
•    Experience with DfM, Lean Manufacturing, technology transfer process, & FMEA.
