Overview:
The SVP, Account Director will lead and manage multiple healthcare, pharmaceutical, and commercial accounts. This senior role requires a strategic, hands-on leader with deep expertise in healthcare marketing, exceptional client management, and proven success in leading integrated campaigns. The SVP, AD will drive client relationships, oversee account teams, and contribute to business growth, ensuring high-quality strategy and execution.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Leadership & Strategic Partnership:

    • Serve as senior lead for key healthcare and pharmaceutical accounts, providing strategic guidance and thought leadership.
    • Build and maintain long-term client relationships, establishing the agency as a trusted partner.
    • Advise clients on business challenges, offering innovative solutions.
  • Account Oversight:

    • Oversee marketing campaign execution across channels, ensuring compliance, brand consistency, and timely delivery.
    • Manage the financial health of accounts, including budgeting, forecasting, and profitability.
  • Strategic Planning & Growth:

    • Develop and implement multi-year strategic plans for key accounts.
    • Identify growth opportunities within accounts to expand services and drive business development.
  • Team Leadership & Mentorship:

    • Lead and mentor account teams, ensuring high performance and alignment with client and agency goals.
    • Actively participate in client calls, deliverables, and strategic planning.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with creative, medical, digital, and analytics teams to ensure seamless campaign execution.
    • Provide clear direction to ensure alignment across teams.
 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field; advanced degrees or certifications in healthcare marketing a plus.
  • 15+ years of account management experience, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role within a healthcare agency.
  • Proven ability to lead large pharmaceutical/healthcare accounts and deliver integrated, multi-channel campaigns.
  • Strong knowledge of FDA regulations, MLR processes, and the healthcare/pharmaceutical industry.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with experience managing C-suite relationships.
  • Strong leadership skills, with a focus on mentorship, team development, and hands-on execution.
  • Ability to manage complex projects, timelines, and budgets.
